Our Philosophy

At Bed & Biscuit, our staff is trained to read each dog’s body language, to prioritize safety and actively manage stress, and to communicate openly with clients about how their dogs are adjusting to the B&B environment. We recognize and appreciate that every dog is different, and there’s not a one-size-fits-all approach to pet care. We pride ourselves on our individualized care system and our attention to detail.

Dogs in our boarding program go out to socialize four times per day at a minimum. Dogs who are over ten years old, are under six months old, or have incontinence issues will automatically go out an extra two times for potty breaks. Dogs in our daycare program go out to socialize three times per day at a minimum. If your dog has extra energy to spare, you can also request extra one-on-one playtimes for an additional fee.

During dog socialization time, our staff monitors the pups’ interactions with other dogs closely, and our play groups tend to be smaller with two to six dogs to maximize supervision. When pups are not in the yard, they are able to relax in their own private, air-conditioned space. Feel free to bring toys, treats, and bedding to make your dogs’ stay as comfy and fun as possible!

There is not a one-size-fits-all approach to socialization, and some dogs would benefit more from a “play-all-day” system of care. However, especially in Austin’s hot summers, we’ve found that many dogs enjoy getting time to rest and relax in between playtimes. We want to partner with you to find a good fit for your pup, so if we believe your dog would benefit from extra outs, extra playtimes, or a different boarding or daycare environment, you can trust us to let you know.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide your pup with a home-away-from-home where they can feel safe, have fun, and know they’re loved!
